About the Role ? ? As a?Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting our sustainable procurement strategies, managing procurement actions, and maintaining essential systems, policies, and procedures. Your primary focus will be on indirect categories such as marketing, services, logistics, and industrial materials. This role is crucial for negotiating new supply agreements and fostering strong relationships with our existing supplier base. This position reports directly to the Indirect Purchasing Manager and is based at our National Sales Company office in Richmond and requires once day a week at our International Market Group Product Development Centre in Broadmeadows, Melbourne. The role operates under a hybrid work arrangement, requiring four days in the office. Lead Vendor Relationship Management: ?Negotiate contractual commitments, and actively monitor and drive supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics. Optimize Contracts: ?Conduct regular reviews of existing supplier contracts, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal terms and value. Foster Cross-Functional Partnerships: ?Build and maintain positive relationships with internal business partners, ensuring early engagement and seamless project implementation. Drive Sourcing Strategies: ?Lead the implementation of strategic sourcing actions, including developing comprehensive sourcing strategies and conducting market tests/benchmarking. Collaborate Globally: ?Liaise effectively with regional and global commodity teams to support and align with strategic purchasing direction. Achieve Cost Targets: ?Develop and deliver monthly and annual cost roadmaps and plans, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for purchasing systems, policies, and procedures. Implement Best Practices: ?Utilize Ford Global Policies and Procedures to implement and continuously improve procurement practices. Strategic Planning: ?Develop short, medium, and long-term procurement strategies that align with and support the evolving needs of the business Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a Finance-related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect purchasing. Proficiency in purchasing systems and policies. Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Tools/Methods. Strong negotiation skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
