The Training and Skills Pathways team within the Delivery and Partnerships Division is responsible for the state-wide management and coordination of a range of grant programs and services ensuring accessibility and participation in the vocational education and training (VET) sector and the labour market. This includes administering the Small and Family Business Construction Apprentice Wage Subsidy Pilot.About the role:The Principal Program Officer will be delivering training and employment programs that make a real difference for disadvantaged Queenslanders. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive, collaborative environment while leading the management of grant programs and a small team.As the Principal Program Officer, you will:- Support the Director, Training and Skills Pathways by administrating and managing a range of targeted training and employment grant programs, including the Small and Family Business Construction Apprentice Wage Subsidy Pilot and the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.- Manage high-level research activities and provide strategic advice on the delivery of training and employment programs and grants administration.- Provide expert written and oral advice, including preparing program specific performance reports, financial reports, executive correspondence and briefing materials, often within tight timeframes.- Undertake high-level research, analysis and review of complex Vocational Education and Training (VET) and skills policy issues and proposals, providing recommendations and innovative solutions.What we are looking for:We want to understand your unique journey, skills, knowledge, and experiences, along with the personal qualities that make you stand out.
