Principal Program Officer – Priority Programs A large Queensland Government department is seeking a Principal Program Officer to lead business improvement and capital grants initiatives within the Infrastructure Services Division. This role will oversee the review, development, and implementation of program processes that guide future investment and ensure alignment with strategic priorities. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you’ll manage high-profile funding programs, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the capital grants management framework. Key Responsibilities: Lead business improvement activities by analysing and evaluating grants management practices, processes, and tools. Provide strategic advice on methodologies, metrics, and systems that support effective program governance. Administer and monitor program frameworks and ensure compliance with departmental standards. Oversee financial, contractual, and records management for funding agreements. Coordinate program activities, including the preparation of reports, briefings, and submissions for senior leadership. Provide high-level advice to stakeholders across government and education sectors. Engage and negotiate with diverse stakeholder groups to support program delivery and outcomes. About You: Experienced in program or grants management with a strong understanding of government funding frameworks. Analytical, detail-focused, and capable of translating data insights into actionable recommendations. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication with experience preparing reports and briefings. Proven ability to identify risks, improve processes, and deliver business improvement outcomes. Highly Regarded: Experience working within government infrastructure or education capital programs. Knowledge of program design, evaluation, and continuous improvement frameworks.
