Mental Health Commissioner, Queensland Mental Health Commission Applications are now open for the role of Mental Health Commissioner, Queensland Mental Health Commission (Commission). Reporting to the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, the Commissioner performs the role of Chief Executive of the Commission and is responsible for leading the Queensland Mental Health Commission, consisting of approximately 26 permanent staff and 24 temporary positions. To be successful applicant you will have: held significant positions where you have led delivery of a vision responsive to government priorities, community needs and changing expectations. a demonstrated ability to make fair and balanced administrative decisions in the public interest with a comprehensive understanding of the broad mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs systems and policies have deep experience practising sound corporate governance, political impartiality, and independence developed high performing teams and have fostered exceptional relationships with a broad range of stakeholders experience in providing advice to Ministerial and Senior Executive levels, and have had direct dealings with media, particularly with adverse reactions.
