The Role The role for hire is an Early Childhood Teacher based in Box Hill, NSW, it is a full-time role with an annual salary between $78,000 to $85,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. The Responsibilities Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children May plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours May supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. Early childhood educator assistants perform some or all of the following duties: Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties The Requirements Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) First Aid Qualifications and Training as prescribed by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis, General First Aid) At least 3 years of professional experience in early childhood teaching in Australia At least 3 years' experience teaching in early childhood education settings, delivering programs aligned with EYLF and NQS. At least 3 years' experience in curriculum development, child assessment, and educational programming. At least 3 years' experience mentoring and supervising educators in early childhood pedagogy and best practices. At least 3 years' experience supporting children with diverse learning needs and implementing inclusive teaching strategies. At least 3 years' experience liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children's learning outcomes. Thorough knowledge of the National Quality Framework A current knowledge of relevant curriculum frameworks and the ability to implement a program that caters to diversity amongst the children, educators, families and community A working knowledge and thorough understanding of the national quality standards, the education and care services national law act 2010 and the education and care services national regulations 2011 Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills with children, adults, fellow educators and the community Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, being sensitive to the strength and weaknesses of fellow team members
