The Environmental Offsets – Planning, Monitoring and Research (PMR) team is looking for an enthusiastic Ecological Data Officer with a high level of geographical information systems (GIS) expertise, data management skills and an interest in the conservation and management of Natural Temperate Grassland and Box Gum Woodland ecosystems in the ACT region. Under the supervision of the Spatial Data Manager Offsets PMR, the Ecological Data Officer will support the use, expansion, and refinement of Tracking Restoration Activities and Conservation Efforts (TRACE) spatial data platform within ESRI’s ArcGIS suite, supporting planners and land managers in delivering restoration activities for new and established offset reserves. This position is required to engage and collaborate with a team of highly skilled planners, ecologists, and land managers to support conservation monitoring, and evaluation needs. This includes contributing to ongoing improvements in restoration data collection, reporting capabilities and usability across ACT Government stakeholders. Desirable: Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in spatial science, GIS, data science, ecology/environmental science or other related discipline. Willingness to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training.
