ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications from motivated professionals to join the Compliance Team as a Compliance Officer (ASO5). This position is based at the Alexander Maconochie Centre in Hume. The Compliance Officer will support the Assistant Director, Compliance, in delivering oversight and assurance activities across ACT Corrective Services, and is responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on compliance within custodial operations at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) and the Court Transport Unit (CTU). In collaboration with Custodial Operations staff, the successful candidate will conduct spot checks, audits and compliance process reviews, which support the reporting of operational compliance within the AMC and CTU. In addition, you will work closely with the Quality and Assurance Team, the Office of the Commissioner, Litigation, and Custodial Operations staff to ensure accurate and timely sharing of information. You will contribute to the preparation of compliance reports, risk registers, and recommendations to support evidence-based decision making. Further to this, you will be responsible for providing a range of administrative support, including drafting documents, coordinating information for stakeholders and preparing correspondence such as letters, briefings, and written reports. To be successful, you will have sound administrative and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think and act in a busy environment. Strong analytical capability and the ability to identify and report risks or areas of non-compliance are essential.
