Whitehorse City Council is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to guide one of our three long day care and integrated kindergarten services within Whitehorse Early Learning Services (WELS). As Children's Services Centre Director, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of exceptional early learning programs and high-quality care for children aged 6 weeks – 6 years. You’ll foster a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement across your centre, in line with Council values and the National Quality Framework. Lead, mentor and inspire a team of educators to deliver outstanding learning and care experiences. Oversee compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standard and Council policies. Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with families, staff and community partners. Drive quality improvement planning, reflective practice and innovative approaches to pedagogy. Manage the operational aspects of the service including budgets, staffing, enrolments and reporting. Contribute to strategic planning within Whitehorse Early Learning Services and support service-wide initiatives. About you: A confident, supportive leader who models integrity, professionalism and collaboration. Skilled in managing people, guiding teams through change, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Experienced in curriculum leadership, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions. Competent in administrative systems, budgeting and digital tools used for planning, communication and record keeping. Essential qualifications: ACECQA-approved Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education. Experience in a leadership or management role within an early childhood education and care service.
