The key duties of the position include The Role The APS 5 Business Support Officer is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Office of Director General Defence Landworthiness (DG DLw). The role requires a comprehensive awareness of Branch activities, projects and programs to forward plan specific business support requirements. The APS 5 Business Support Officer will: Manage the overall operation of the work area including the executive email, electronic diary, document production, office services function and travel and budget administration. Utilise available information to prepare briefing packs, reports and papers for DG engagements. Liaise with stakeholders and visitors of all levels, building good working relationships and providing a point of contact for assistance and general enquiries. Actively monitor organisational information, guidance or policy for updates and change that may affect the administrative functions of the Executive. Evaluate changes and use common sense to solve problems that may be challenging yet broadly similar to previous situations and research solutions. Maintain records management systems in line with Defence policies and procedures. Build and sustain relationships in order to work collaboratively within the work area and other areas. About our Team The DG DLw leads Landworthiness Branch which is responsible to the Defence Landworthiness Authority (Chief of Army) for the assurance of Land capabilities. The Branch consists of five directorates being: Workplace Health & Safety - Army, Engineering - Army, Army Seaworthiness Support, Landworthiness Investigations & Support, and the Land Test & Evaluation Agency. The Office of DG DLw is located in Russell Offices, Canberra.
