The key duties of the position include The Role Chief of Staff Navy Headquarters (COS NHQ) is looking for an APS 4 Information & Records Officer to be part of a team providing a range of records management and information support functions for the Office of Chief of Navy (OCN) and Chief of Staff Navy Headquarters (COS NHQ). As part of a team, you will provide detailed information and records management functions & advice, audits & assurance tasks, contribute to planning & programs and drive innovative change in support of COS NHQ business outcomes. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential and the ability to think outside the box to find innovative solutions. Applicants will need to demonstrate their skills against some of the key duties for the role which are: Support information and records management activities in accordance with relevant legislation and Defence policies and procedures. Provide advice and interpret/apply legislative, policy and regulatory requirements on the management of information and records. Take the initiative to develop and implement information and records management procedures to achieve continuous improvement. Conduct compliance monitoring and reporting activities for systems and practices. Interrogate internal and international databases to obtain relevant information for implementation and control into Defence publications and procedures. Have experience managing and controlling security classified Defence documentation and information. About our Team You will be a valued member of the COS NHQ Business Team which currently consists of 11 people who are striving to create business improvement, increase governance & assurance functions, and find innovative ways to update administrative practices to better meet the business need. You will physically be in the Business Information Support Office (BISO) which performs registry functions with a key focus on processing correspondence for the Office of Chief of Navy (OCN), providing specialist advice & support related to records & Objective management and becoming the centre of expertise for security requirements for Navy Headquarters.
