CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS MANAGER / OFFICE MANAGER | CANBERRA · Salary package $110,000 - $120.000 superannuation · Oversee operations, projects & administration for a leading Canberra builder · Full-time, permanent opportunity with a professional, supportive team About Canberra ACT · Population: ~462,000 · Median house price: $961,000 · Location: Capital city of Australia, 280 km south-west of Sydney · Known for: National institutions, café culture & beautiful bushland surrounds About the role We are seeking an experienced Construction Operations & Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of a leading Canberra construction company. This role combines operations management, office leadership, and project administration , ensuring smooth business performance, compliance, and exceptional project support. Tasks & Responsibilities Operations and Project Support Use project management software to run reports, troubleshoot issues, improve processes, upload documentation, and close out projects. Coordinate and manage work orders (small works) for multiple clients, including logging, allocating, invoicing, and liaising with clients. Attend weekly team meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items. Support the Safety Manager with implementing safety documentation through cloud based software portal. Collaborate in developing and maintaining company procedures and business processes. Monitor subcontractor insurances, safety compliance, and certificates to ensure accuracy and currency. Manage the tender process, including programming, preparation, gathering information, and contributing to submissions (not writing). Assist with onboarding new subcontractors, entering data in spreadsheet and collecting documentation. Office Administration and Management Oversee and support general office administrative functions. Manage shared inboxes, delegate incoming tasks, and track regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly workflows. Approve office expenses in Xero . Collate receipts for reconciliation with the Bookkeeper. Maintain office supplies, uniforms, and equipment, including ordering and allocation. Book staff training and maintain employee records, including certifications. Track vehicle maintenance, registrations, and service schedules. Safety, Quality & Environmental (SQE) Administration Support the administration of the company's SQE Management System . Monitor and follow up on scheduled SQE tasks with responsible team members. Manage and file safety documentation and performance data (digital & hard copy). Complete and submit SQE reports, including office-based HSE and performance reports. Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in an operations and office management capacity, ideally with exposure to fast-paced, service-driven environments.
