The Microsoft Services Team within CITEC provides Microsoft Windows server management and support for Queensland Government agencies.As a key member of the team, you will provide Microsoft technical system support and advice to CITEC's customers, business partners and internal staff. You will also collaborate closely with other CITEC teams, especially those which manage the ICT infrastructure stack for example, Internetworking, Architecture, Product Management, Customer Relationship Managers, Solutions Implementation Teams and Project Delivery.Your responsibilities:As the IT Support Consultant, you will:- Provide support for Microsoft server products, Microsoft Azure and O365 products (refer technical skills).- Contribute to projects undertaken by the team, including the on-boarding of customers, new architecture solutions, and research into the applicability of new and emerging technologies.- Provide system administration services and advice to customers to agreed customer service levels whilst helping maintain CITEC business viability and cost competitiveness.- Contribute/assist in writing the responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs).- Participate in pre-sales workshops, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, evaluations and benchmarks.- Mentor junior technical staff in identifying risks and opportunities for improvement in management infrastructure, tools and procedures, and participate in agreed improvement activities and risk treatment strategies- Progress certification training and complete ongoing continuing education requirements to ensure growth and enhancement of your and the Teams skillset.There may be a requirement to work out of hours, weekends, and public holidays to ensure the successful delivery of CITEC enterprise solutions. The role reports to the Senior IT Support Consultant.To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:- Experience in performing system administration activities in an enterprise environment. Refer Technical requirements for specific technologies.- Proven success in the translation of business requirements into effective solutions, including significant experience in problem resolution within complex IT infrastructure and business environments- Demonstrate experience in providing effective systems administration, management and enhancement services to clients with reliability in meeting agreed deadlines and commitments.- Demonstrate experience working in accordance with organisational processes and constraints, as well as taking responsibility for accuracy, self-evaluating and seeking feedback- Clear, effective and proactive communication with a range of stakeholders in an environment that deals with complex infrastructure architecture and a complex customer baseIn addition, this role requires the leadership capabilities of Individual Contributor as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland booklet.Technical Requirements:To succeed in this role, you will need knowledge and experience in the following technologies:- Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, SQL Databases, Active Directory Services and System Centre suite (MECM & SCOM).- PowerShell Scripting.- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services.- Remote desktop gateway services.- Server hardening and security protocols aligning with Essential Eight frameworks.- Microsoft 365 tenant administration- Citrix Administration Virtual Apps and Desktop (or similar)- Knowledge and experience in VMWare, Azure, Rapid 7, Microsoft Intune, IOS Management, AoVPN would be highly desirable.This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the CITEC Agreement conditions apply to this position.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
