The Office of the Deputy Director-General (Rail) oversees and supports the Rail Division in developing the capability of our people and leading timely and accurate financial reporting and performance requirements for the division providing strategic advice to senior management to inform effective decision making within the department. The purpose of the Director (Finance and Performance) is to provide financial and analytical reporting, oversight, advice and stewardship to the DDG Rail for the Rail Division. The role ensures accounting requirements, financial policies and financial processes are in place and effective across the division. The role oversees the rail division budget and reporting as well as ensuring financial compliance and delivery of the rail programs and projects on time and on budget. Some of your responsibilities will include:- Lead the development, preparation and analysis of the division's budget processes in conjunction with key stakeholders providing oversight across all budget submissions for the Rail Division.- Lead the preparation and analysis of comprehensive financial reporting working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide the DDG and executive leadership team with oversight of operational and program performance.- Lead, prepare, review and track financial submissions on behalf of the Rail Division to ensure appropriate funding and resourcing requirements are obtained.- Ensure compliance, efficiency and effective financial controls are in place across the Rail Division.- Provide advice and professional representation for the division at forums, meetings, committees and working groups.- Implement strategies to enhance the skills, financial management capability and process efficiencies of the Rail Division through the development and delivery of guidelines, procedures, and training.
