Full time ongoing position Salary range: $138,909 - $162,060 plus super plus salary packaging Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the roleVictoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking an experienced and purpose-driven Recruitment and Retention Manager to lead our end-to-end recruitment and retention strategy. This pivotal leadership role blends strategic thinking, stakeholder influence, team development, and continuous improvement to ensure VLA attracts and retains high-quality talent aligned with our values and mission. As a key member of the People and Workplace Services leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our workforce strategy, building our employer brand, and leading innovation across all aspects of recruitment and retention. You'll lead a team of around nine professionals, manage a $3.5 million budget, and partner with stakeholders across the organisation. This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country. About youAs our ideal candidate, you will possess: Demonstrated experience leading recruitment and retention functions in a complex, multi-disciplinary organisation. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to develop strong talent pipelines to ensure alignment to organisational goals. Experience in managing significant budgets and delivering measurable outcomes. Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills. A strong understanding of diversity and inclusion principles in recruitment, including an understanding of the issues and barriers to employment experienced by Australian First Nations people.
