The South-West Region's Fire Team operates through Operations, Planning & Support. Two roles are in Operations, & one role in Support. The South-West Queensland Regional Fire Team comprises specialist staff who lead a strategic and consistent approach to landscape fire management across the region. The team operates through three core functions: Operations, Planning and Support. Of the positions currently advertised: Two roles fall within the Operations function, based in Roma and Toowoomba respectively. These positions benefit from demonstrated expertise in landscape scale bushfire management, including an understanding of fire behaviour in response to weather and fuel conditions, and the ecological impacts of both appropriate and inappropriate fire. Equally important are strong project management capabilities, particularly in delivering complex annual programs such as regional fire programs, fire management infrastructure projects, and associated accounting systems. These roles will lead complex planned burns within their operational areas and support similar activities across the region. The third position is within the Support function, based in Toowoomba. This role provides logistical and technical fire-related support to the team and the broader region. While fire management knowledge is essential across all team members, this position places a premium on administrative, project management and systems management skills. nrmjobs.com.au/job/20027295
