The Role In collaboration with the Principal and the executive team, the Deputy Principal will provide high level strategic leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school’s vision, business plan and strategic directions across the school community. A significant responsibility of the Deputy Principal is to embed and maintain aspects of the school culture that promote positive relationships between students and staff while engaging parents, caregivers and the wider community in the educational work of the school. Suitable applicants will ideally display experience in supporting and building the capacity of their staff through coaching and mentoring processes. This would be enacted through leading thorough data and researched informed practice with respect to student engagement, pastoral care and wellbeing, and supporting the strategic planning of targeted initiatives to enhance student wellbeing, progress and achievement. Experience with coordinating whole school events and managing school policy and procedures such as evacuation, excursions and timetabling would be a benefit. Experience in leading the implementation of the West Australian Curriculum within a cross curricular context to enhance learning would also be highly desirable. Experience and knowledge of current educational research as it applies to the pedagogy of Visible Learning would be an advantage. This position may also include a teaching component to support school priorities.
