About Us Zweck invests, acquires and grows businesses that bring innovation to the built environment. We operate in four key verticals including Commercial Contracting; Building, Property and Asset Services; Infrastructure services and solutions and Auxiliary Products and Services. At Zweck, we value innovation, collaboration, and excellence. We’re a fast-paced, dynamic organisation that’s constantly striving to improve and grow. Our people are our strength, and we’re committed to creating a positive workplace where teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect are more than just words—they’re the way we work. About the Role We’re looking for a proactive People & Culture Advisor to join our team for a 6–12 month maternity leave cover. This role is all about being the subject matter expert in all things HR—implementing and embedding existing frameworks, ensuring compliance, refining processes, and empowering leaders to confidently manage their people responsibilities. Rather than “doing the do,” you’ll focus on equipping, coaching, and guiding managers so they know what to do, how to do it, and how to do it the right way. You’ll help embed best practice, simplify complexity, and ensure the business has the right tools and confidence to manage people matters effectively. What you’ll be doing Acting as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders, providing practical HR frameworks and guidance across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. Developing and refining policies, processes, and workflows to make them clear, practical, and easy for managers to use. Supporting the post-implementation of our new HRMS/payroll system—optimising processes, training users, and ensuring accuracy and adoption. Equipping managers with the tools and confidence to handle people activities (contracts, onboarding, offboarding, performance management). Keeping the business informed of Award and legislative changes, and embedding compliance into everyday practice. Supporting cyclical people processes such as performance reviews, engagement survey and reporting, with a focus on consistency and transparency. What we’re looking for An experienced HR generalist or business partner (4 years) with a strong coaching and advisory style. Someone who can balance strategic insight with practical frameworks that make life easier for managers. Excellent communication and relationship skills—you can influence and guide everyone from apprentices to senior leaders. Tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and confident in HR/payroll systems. Bonus: experience in construction, trades, or multi-entity businesses (advantageous but not essential). Why you’ll love it here You’ll report to the Group GM and work as part of a supportive, down-to-earth team that values initiative, flexibility, and good humour. We leave work at the office, but while we’re here, we get things done and have some fun along the way. This is a full-time role based at our Gold Coast HQ, with flexibility to support the right person. Interested? If this sounds like the next step in your HR career, we’d love to hear from you.
