As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you will undertake a lead role in the development, coordination and delivery of professional health and safety systems and programs across Department of Health Divisions. You will provide high level advice and consultancy services to a portfolio of clients on work health and safety, risk management, incidents and audit/assessment processes to improve overall organisational health in alignment with the Department of Health policy requirements and achieve legislative compliance to ensure the health and safety of businesses and consumers. Additionally, you will monitor, review and analyse health and safety incidents, performance reports and legislation to inform and assist Executive Officers meet their work health and safety due diligence obligations. Role fit: High-level influencing skills with the ability to effectively consult and engage with clients and stakeholders within a multidisciplinary environment, providing advice and guidance on health and safety matters. Technical knowledge and skills in the area of health and safety legislation, standards, Codes of Practice and guidelines with experience in risk management, problem solving, investigation and auditing to provide client-focused solutions on safety issues. High level interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring clients and stakeholders on health and safety matters to build capability and embed a strong safety culture across a complex and geographically dispersed organisation.
