Our team The Enterprise Data and Digital (EDD) branch provides enterprise digital and data service to Geoscience Australia. EDD's purpose is to unleash Geoscience Australia's world-class science - making it faster, easier (more flexible), lower risk and higher impact. The ICT Service Management Section plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the operational capability of Geoscience Australia's enterprise ICT and the quality of ICT service delivery for our clients. We ensure integrity of enterprise ICT services, assets, service providers and finances through effective governance, vendor management and oversight. We are a central point of engagement for stakeholders to align business needs to ICT services and solutions. One of the key responsibilities of the ICT Service Management Section is the management of the vendor relationship and performance of our outsourced managed services provider, and other key ICT service providers. The key duties of the position include The ICT Vendor Manager is an integral leadership role responsible to support the reliable, secure, and fit for purpose delivery of ICT services for our organisation. In this role you will work within the ICT Service Management team to support and manage the engagement, contract and performance for our primary ICT service providers. You will lead a small team to manage ICT vendors, contracts and budgets, working with business areas and providers to manage the supplier relationship, risks and issues, negotiating contracts and planning. You will promote a positive and inclusive culture within the ICT Service Management team. This role requires a highly-organised strategic thinker and pragmatic problem solver, with a sound understanding of vendor management in federal government and proven ability to manage contracts to monitor and improve performance. You will contribute to the enhancement and modernisation of our enterprise ICT environment and contribute to the achievement of our Strategy 2028 strategic plan. In this role you will: Develop productive working relationships with our primary ICT managed service provider, other key suppliers as required, and internal ICT and Corporate stakeholders. Represent the interests of Geoscience Australia and the Commonwealth in contract negotiations, evaluations and regular vendor engagement. Establish clear expectations with our primary ICT service provider, and other key suppliers as required, through both the contract, reporting and regular engagement. Manage the contract performance for our primary ICT service provider and manage contract performance of other vendors as required. Manage risks and issues and review contracts for the ongoing provision of ICT services. Review contracts and acceptance certificates, validate invoices and define services to confirm requirements and value for money. Manage a small team to deliver financial management and budgetary services to the Enterprise Data and Digital branch, overseeing a multi-million branch budget encompassing ICT assets, software, hardware, support and services. Manage and conduct regular meetings, and regular reporting in relation to contract management compliance and performance, ensuring activities are effective and appropriately documented. Identify and implement improvements to contract management plans and processes, financial management and budgetary processes. To be successful in the role you will: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with ICT suppliers, clients and Geoscience Australia ICT leadership. Establish and improve processes related to contract management and reporting, including service level agreement reporting and invoicing. Work collaboratively with the ICT Service Assurance Team to develop processes to enable effective service delivery and contract management and support service improvements. Facilitate connections between suppliers, clients and senior leadership to develop a common understanding. Demonstrate a high level of initiative, ability to work with limited direction and apply good judgement. Develop and lead the delivery of a work plan for the Contract Management Function. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills. Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications Managing vendor relationships, evaluation, compliance and performance. Drafting and reviewing contracts and developing contract management plans, with advice and support from legal and procurement team. 5 years in financial management and/or ICT procurement, ideally within the Aus tralian Government.
