Position Summary The Maintenance Lead plays a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities across the terminal. This role works closely with internal maintenance personnel and external contractors to ensure asset reliability, operational continuity, and safety compliance. Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) knowledge is a preferable. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day coordination of maintenance activities across site assets, including tanks, pipelines, valves, pumps, E&I and control systems. Collaborate with site contractors, ensuring work is delivered to scope, schedule, and safety standards. Provide supervision, direction, and support to the maintenance team during planned and unplanned work. Participate in planning and execution of shutdowns, inspections, and major maintenance tasks. Conduct and support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment failures. Ensure timely completion of work orders and accurate documentation in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Support compliance with relevant Australian standards, Vopak global standards, and regulatory requirements. Liaise with engineering and operations teams to coordinate maintenance with minimal impact to operations. Promote and model Vopak’s One Team culture and a strong safety-first mindset. Skills & Experience More than 5 years’ working experience a maintenance and site supervisory role, preferably in industrial, terminal, or petrochemical environments. Maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems (LV) and UPS on fixed plant and process equipment on Oil & Gas infrastructures. Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, Schematics and loop diagrams. Good understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA and control systems and associated troubleshooting. Full understanding of field instrumentation and different types of communication protocols such as (HART, Fieldbus and Ethernet TCP/IP) Able to review and modify (PM) Preventive maintenance site plan. Working knowledge of E&I systems. EEHA competent and trained/ certified is advantage. Certificate III/ IV Instrumentation & Control and Electrical Instrumentation is advantage. Industrial and Electrotechnology Electrician competent and certified is advantage. Experience coordinating contractors and managing maintenance schedules. Familiarity with CMMS HEXAGON EAM system and Oracle Cloud as well as general maintenance record-keeping. Strong understanding of safety systems (e.g. permits to work, LOTO, risk assessments). High attention to detail, strong communication, collaborative, and teamwork skills. Desirable Confined space and working at heights certifications. Experience working in MHF plant and hazardous areas. Exposure to integrity inspection regimes and statutory compliance tasks.
