Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the company’s financial strategy and public-company readiness as SouthernCrossAI enters a major growth phase, including an upcoming ASX listing and capital expansion program . This is a full-time, on-site executive role based in Sydney, NSW , reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors and Audit & Risk Committee. The CFO will be responsible for all financial governance, corporate reporting, investor relations, and capital management activities, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards, ASX disclosure requirements, and internal financial control frameworks. Key responsibilities Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management. Oversight of corporate accounting, cash flow, and capital structure. Management of financial reporting and audit processes in line with ASIC and ASX regulations. Leadership in capital raising activities, including the ongoing pre-IPO and post-listing investor programs. Establishment and oversight of treasury, risk management, and procurement frameworks. Development of scalable financial systems aligned with the company’s growth and infrastructure expansion. Strategic financial analysis to support executive decision-making and long-term planning. Oversight of reporting and financial controls across domestic and international activities. Qualifications and Experience Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in a publicly listed or high-growth technology company . Deep understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, and ASX/ASIC governance frameworks. Strong background in financial planning, modelling, reporting, and control systems . Demonstrated success in managing capital raises, investor relations, and audit engagements . Ability to lead cross-functional teams and establish governance processes suitable for a public company. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial audiences. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, capable of driving both compliance and commercial performance. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CA, or MBA preferred). Prior experience in the AI, data infrastructure, or renewable energy sectors will be viewed favourably.
