About the Role Lead and supervise laboratory operations across Automated Haematology, Special Haematology, and Morphology, ensuring high standards of accreditation, compliance, rostering, and effective workforce management. Deliver scientific expertise and hands-on testing, including morphology, routine, and special haematology, while overseeing quality control, quality assurance, and the maintenance, calibration, and safe operation of laboratory equipment. Manage laboratory resources and workflows by maintaining adequate stocks of reagents and consumables, coordinating external specimen referrals, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of results. Support clinical services and communication by liaising with clinicians, wards, and external sites, providing expert interpretation of complex cases, and ensuring urgent and critical results are promptly communicated. Develop staff capability and knowledge through training, supervision, competency assessment, and education, while actively engaging in your own professional development, scientific meetings, and research-informed practice. Drive continuous improvement and safety by contributing to audits, service reviews, and innovation in laboratory practice, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving, and a commitment to safe and effective work practices. About You: Hold a Bachelor or higher degree in Science or Medical Laboratory Science, with hands-on expertise in Automated Haematology, Special Haematology, and Morphology, bringing technical excellence to specialised diagnostic testing. Confident in using laboratory information systems to streamline workflows, ensure data accuracy, and deliver timely, reliable reporting in a fast-paced environment. Thrive both independently and as a collaborative team member, showing initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting colleagues and patients alike. Communicate with clarity and confidence, producing accurate documentation and building strong professional relationships across clinical and laboratory teams.
