Shape the future | NSW Passenger Rail Operations Opportunity to lead and drive excellence Permanent Full-Time role, located in Eveleigh About the Project: UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are looking for a Senior Maintenance Supervisor to join our New Intercity Fleet (NIF) and Regional Rail project teams. This role will be located at our Eveleigh Maintenance Facility and will be offered as a permanent fulltime role, 38 hours per week and a Monday-Friday roster . The NIF project will oversee the replacement of trains carrying customers from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast. UGL will operate a new maintenance facility and provide maintenance and asset management services to the new fleet for 15 years. About Your Role: As the Senior Maintenance Supervisor , you will support key operational activities and play a vital role in delivering world-class fleet maintenance and management. Your leadership and expertise will directly contribute to the success of the New Intercity Fleet and Regional Rail Project while driving outcomes in safety, customer satisfaction, and environmental compliance. Reporting to the Infield Maintenance Manager , your key responsibilities will include: Leadership in Safety and Quality: Demonstrate leadership in safety, quality, and environmental management. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Team Management: Provide leadership, direction, and clear instructions to all team members. Ensure adherence to rostered work schedules, work instructions, and quality and safety requirements. Train Performance\: Ensure trains meet availability and reliability requirements. Monitor and complete work according to the scheduled train plan. Incident Management: Support and/or manage investigations into incidents involving safety, quality, unavailability, and train faults. Asset Information System: Ensure accurate raising of notifications, service orders, and closure of service orders in the Asset Information System. Performance Monitoring: Review achieved KPIs against pre-determined performance indicators. Implement changes as required to deal with contract/project variations, non-conformities, budget changes, and customer requirements. About You: The Senior Maintenance Manager role requires a mixture of technical expertise, leadership experience, and Rail industry knowledge. Below are the key qualifications, skills, and experience necessary for this position: Extensive management and supervisory experience, ideally in a Maintenance environment. Tertiary Qualification in Management and/or Engineering. Strong understanding of manufacturing resource planning systems and procedures. Sound understanding of budgetary management, cost control, and performance measurement activities. Working knowledge of Rail industry operations, Rail Safety Act, quality control systems and rail network operations. Proven track record in managing safety, quality, and environmental compliance under relevant legislation and contract requirements. Extensive experience managing a team with clear delivery targets to achieve within set timeframes. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management and staff, both verbally and in writing. Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, enabling you to gather, interpret complex information and present data and insights in a manner that supports informed decision-making. Skilled in prioritising multiple tasks, ensuring objectives are met on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
