About the role: ALS Water Canberra (Hume) are looking for a full-time Quality / Safety Officer to join the team in our new modern laboratory, equipped with the latest in analytical technology. The successful applicant will receive training and support in the technical components and procedures of the role and in a wide variety of processes associated with working in a modern laboratory. The Day to Day Looking after accreditations and certifications for the site. Planning and participating in internal and external audits and workplace inspections. Coordinate the update of local methods and procedures. Manage quality assurance programs, including method validation and calibrations. Coordinating safety and environmental programs. Coordinating health management processes, including injury management. Maintaining records of training, skills, competency and qualifications and delivering or arranging training, as required. The Essentials Diploma / Degree in an appropriate discipline and/or several years’ experience in a related role. A thorough knowledge of laboratory operations. Good knowledge and understanding of NATA and safety requirements. Previous experience in safety, quality or auditing is preferable. Excellent attention to detail, communication and organisational skills. Dedication to safe, quality laboratory practices. Strong commitment to client service. A positive work attitude, willingness to learn new skills and to be a great team player. Current driver’s license and understanding of laboratory functions.
