Job Description Position Title: APS3 Legal Support Officer Employment Type: Approximate 6-month contract with potential for extension Location: Brisbane, QLD Hourly Pay Rate: $43.26 per hour plus 12% superannuation ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a motivated Legal Support Officer (APS3) to join a Federal Government agency. In this role, you will provide a broad range of administrative and litigation support services to assist legal practice groups in delivering high-quality prosecution outcomes. Working under general direction, you will support prosecutors with case file management, witness coordination, preparation of court materials, and liaising with external stakeholders. This position requires strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise competing demands, and the initiative to work effectively in a dynamic, high-volume environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Create and maintain case files, manage records, data entry, and document preparation. Draft routine correspondence and prepare legal documents from templates. Coordinate witnesses, subpoenas, travel, and other court-related requirements. Prepare and lodge court materials, arrange interpreters, video conferencing, and translators. Liaise with prosecutors, courts, external agencies, and counsel. Provide administrative and research support to assist with complex matters. Contribute to a positive team culture and broader organisational objectives. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Previous experience providing administrative support in a legal, government, or related environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Sound judgement with the ability to work under established procedures. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, and integrity. Proficiency in using business systems and digital tools to support legal operations.
