What you will do as the Director, Electricity Performance Conduct analytical assessments identifying emerging issues in the energy market. Lead a team of professionals, role modelling our leadership behaviours, supporting a professional and collaborative working environment, coaching, giving continuous feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development. Manage the performance and development of teams and direct reports, to empower and build knowledge and capability that enables high-quality performance and team cohesion. Design and facilitate processes for consultation with stakeholders and assess submissions from stakeholders on energy sector issues. Lead the preparation of written material across a wide variety of formats and purposes, for example: issues papers, regulatory determinations, reports, correspondence, briefings, guidelines, advice, speeches, and submissions. Represent the interests of the AER, building and managing stakeholder relationships with industry bodies, Government agencies (Commonwealth and State), consumer groups and internal stakeholders. About you In order to succeed in the role, you will have: A well-developed understanding, or ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of Australian energy markets and the role, purpose and objectives of the AER. Highly developed communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Highly developed management skills, including demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation; and work with high levels of autonomy. Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking, including the ability to anticipate priorities and risks. Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, corporate finance, law, public policy or related fields with at least 5 years post-qualifications experience involving managing and leading teams is highly desirable.
