The Opportunity The Saleyards Worker is responsible for providing a full range of duties to ensure the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the Dalby Regional Saleyards in accordance with Council's policies, procedures, Code of Conduct and values. Key Responsibilities This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include: 1) Utilising and maintaining items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) in accordance with required procedures, in particular use of a Bobcat; 2) Undertaking maintenance of the saleyards infrastructure, including cleaning of yards and troughs; 3) Ensuring the Saleyards facility is well-presented at all times to a satisfactory standard; About Yourself A person in this position will be required to have: 1) Current Queensland C Class Licence; 2) OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card; and 3) Q Fever Immunisation. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have: · Knowledge of the cattle industry and animal welfare and management practices; and · Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements and safe working practices.
