The key duties of the position include The Role The Uncrewed Aerial Systems Program Office (UASPO) is seeking a capable and motivated APS 6 Deputy Product Manager to join the Tactical Uncrewed Aerial Systems (TUAS) team. This role provides direct support to the TUAS Director, the Executive and the broader TUAS Directorate, contributing to the delivery and sustainment of uncrewed aerial systems capability in alignment with Defence and CASG requirements. As the APS 6 Deputy Product Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing a range of product management activities across the capability life-cycle. This includes logistics planning, performance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and financial management. You will also play a key role in supporting APS-specific functions such as executing financial delegations, managing Commonwealth assets, ensuring compliance with Defence frameworks and supporting organisational operations. Working under broad direction, you will exercise initiative and judgement to deliver outcomes in a dynamic and integrated environment. You will contribute to strategic planning, provide technical and policy advice, and support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, commercial, and executive teams. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the development and implementation of product management strategies and sustainment plans. Leading logistics and resource management activities to ensure capability availability and effectiveness. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues and drive program outcomes. Providing advice and reporting to support governance, assurance, and compliance. Contributing to team leadership, coaching, and capability development. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing team delivering critical capability to Defence. This role has been identified as requiring access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled technology. The ITAR is United States (US) law, which regulates defence articles, including technical data, and defence services on the United States Munitions List. About our Team The Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Program Office (UASPO) resides within Army Aviation Systems Branch (AASB) in Joint Aviation Systems Division (JASD) of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). The Program Office is comprised of a Business Management Unit (BMU), with three recently restructured teams; one focused on future capabilities, and the other two specialising on Tactical and Small UAS Delivery and Sustainment programs. Experience in Defence, aerospace, or other technically complex environments is advantageous but not essential.
