The key duties of the position include We are seeking dedicated and experienced Economists to join the Revenue Performance Branch within International, Support and Programs, and build community confidence and trust through the administration of a world-class tax and superannuation system. As a Revenue Performance Economist, you will work with internal and external business partners to implement and interpret tax revenue performance measures that are defensible, meaningful and reliable. This will involve applying economic, statistical, mathematical and behavioural research methods to deliver, maintain and/or improve econometric models underpinning tailored performance measures. You will be required to undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of large data sets, test hypotheses and forecast trends related to performance measurement. You'll analyse taxpayer populations, including factors influencing their behaviours, and how their circumstances or ATO interventions influence their choices. You will provide advice and technical expertise, develop forecasts and models, conduct your own research and analysis, and communicate findings in an easily understandable manner to a range of internal and external stakeholders. You may lead a small operational team and will review the quality of work undertaken by others within a work group, as well as contribute to building team capability.
