The Office of the Legislative Assembly is seeking people interested in obtaining casual employment as an Assembly Attendant at the ASO2 level. Assembly Attendants are responsible for providing front line customer service to Members of the Legislative Assembly, their staff, the Office of the Legislative Assembly staff, officials, visitors and the general public. Attendants conduct security screening of visitors; issue visitor passes; respond to telephone and face to face enquiries; provide administrative support to the Office including support for room hire arrangements; and work within the Assembly Chamber during sitting periods. Eligibility/Other Requirements: It is a requirement that all Office staff meet obligations set out in the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and OLA policies. Staff and prospective staff must declare any conflicts of interest, please refer to the attached Position Description for further information. As a Sessional Attendant, you will be required to perform a number of duties that require an appropriate level of physical fitness and you will be required to undertake a fitness for duty assessment prior to employment. As a Sessional Attendant, you may be expected to work hours on a sitting day that are dictated by the sittings of the Assembly (i.e. you may be required to work until 7pm). Sessional Attendants are also required to become qualified First Aid Officers and wardens Notes: This position will be offered on a casual basis and the full-time salary noted above will be paid pro-rata. Casual salary rates are currently between $35.75 to $39.20 per hour plus a 25% loading in-lieu of the accrual of leave entitlements and payment for public holidays. Sessional Assembly Attendants must also be prepared to work on a roster system, sometimes at short notice, and to work extended hours on Assembly sitting days. The Assembly sits for approximately 13 weeks per year.
