The Australian Goat Milk Market is set for significant growth, driven by demand for its digestive benefits and infant formula exports to China and Southeast Asia, with Victoria as a key production hub. We seek a dynamic 2IC General Manager to seize this blank canvas opportunity, unify operations, and transform the farm into a world-class, highly profitable enterprise. The role involves managing the goat dairy, milking up to 900 goats per hour, with ambitious plans to expand herd size and output. With the owner primarily overseas, you will have unparalleled autonomy to implement data-driven strategies and lead transformative automation initiatives to set new industry standards. The 2IC General Manager will craft and execute a strategic vision to achieve operational and financial excellence within an agreed budget. Key objectives include: Lead with vision, providing staff training and direction to ensure seamless operations. Harness data to optimise herd and farm performance, maintaining meticulous records. Present the farm as a professional, industry-leading operation. Drive herd development, kid care, and milking operations to exceed production targets. Oversee all farm activities, including equipment maintenance and contractor coordination. Pioneer automation and robotics to revolutionise efficiency and professionalism. Reporting directly to the owner, often overseas, you will collaborate with nutrition consultants, veterinarians, and financial teams to deliver outstanding results. The Ideal Candidate You are a visionary, results-driven leader passionate about redefining dairy farming excellence. You will bring: Proven success managing large-scale dairy or livestock operations, ideally with goats. Deep expertise in TMR feeding, milking systems, breeding, and kid management. Strong financial acumen in budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis. Technical proficiency in animal husbandry, pasture and cropping management, and machinery operation. Experience with dairy automation, robotics, and modern farm management systems to drive innovation. Exceptional leadership and communication skills to inspire staff and engage stakeholders. Proficiency in farm management systems, MS Excel, and Office suite; AgriWebb experience is a plus. A degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agribusiness, or a related field is preferred.
