Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead – Azure Integration Services (AIS) to join our Integration team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the technical delivery of Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations and minor projects, ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of our integration landscape. This role requires deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure Integration Services, hands-on experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade integrations, and strong leadership qualities to guide and support the team. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical delivery of BAU integration activities and minor projects across the Azure Integration Services platform Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing integrations using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management (APIM), Service Bus, Event Grid, and Data Factory Ensure adherence to integration patterns, best practices, and security standards , including alignment with ISO 27001 controls Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and solution architects to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to team members, including code reviews and knowledge sharing Drive operational excellence by monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimising integration solutions Maintain documentation for integrations, operational runbooks, and knowledge bases Participate in release planning, change management, and production support activities, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption Stay current with Microsoft Azure advancements and emerging integration technologies, bringing forward innovative ideas to enhance the platform Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience developing and delivering integrations using Azure Integration Services (AIS) Strong expertise in: Azure Logic Apps (Standard and Consumption models) Azure Functions (C#, PowerShell, or JavaScript/TypeScript) Azure API Management (APIM) (policies, security, throttling, versioning) Azure Service Bus (topics, queues, messaging patterns) Azure Event Grid and Event Hub Azure Data Factory for ETL/integration scenarios Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (build, release, and automated testing for integration artefacts) Proficiency in secure coding practices and implementation of authentication/authorisation models (OAuth2, Managed Identities, Azure AD) Proven experience in incident management, problem resolution, and performance tuning of integration solutions Strong understanding of cloud governance, monitoring, and cost optimisation within Azure Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Desirable Experience Familiarity with Bicep or ARM templates for infrastructure as code Exposure to hybrid integration scenarios (on-premises to cloud) Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns (EIP) and microservices architecture Experience working in Agile environments and delivering in iterative cycles Previous experience leading small teams or acting as a technical mentor Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory) Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration and API Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Personal Attributes Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and upskill team members Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities Proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively across teams Benefits Of Working with Downer Work with an ASX listed company, working with market leaders.
