The Role Our client is a long-established, multigenerational family business engaged in broadacre cropping that continues expanding and evolving on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. They operate across the Yorke Peninsula to produce broadacre crops such as barley, wheat, lentils, and canola, so each day brings new challenges as they work in different locations. Their small, tight-knit team is looking for their next member to join them as an experienced farm hand, a position available due to their expansion. As an experienced farm hand, you must have experience in, or a willingness to learn about, all aspects of broadacre farming, including spraying, harvesting, seeding, rolling, spreading, maintenance, grain cleaning, and grain carting. A key requirement is to be the spray rig operator, so experience in this area would be a significant advantage. The team primarily uses Case tractors, John Deere headers, and Western Star and Freightliner trucks, all well-maintained. They prioritise efficiency by using AgWorld for data recording, weather stations, and GPS. The on-farm infrastructure is well-established, and a new workshop and shed are planned for the future. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family-owned operation that is continuously growing. You will have the chance to develop a busy broadacre cropping business focused on progress and efficiency while working alongside a supportive team that is well cared for and dedicated to helping you succeed. The Offer The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate, with overtime penalties paid fortnightly based on their experience and skill set. In addition to an excellent salary, benefits include accommodation, a vehicle, a phone, an iPad, internet access, and lamb and beef rations at various times throughout the year. They offer a comfortable three-bedroom stone home on the farm, providing privacy and central access to the farming area. The house has air conditioning, heating, and low-maintenance gardens. It is located just 4 km from the school bus route and only 15 km from two major towns, Minlaton and Yorketown, which provide all necessary amenities, including schooling, hospitals, shopping, and sports facilities. The Ideal Candidate We invite applications from candidates with comprehensive experience in broadacre farming, with a particular emphasis on spray rig operation, header operation, and grain delivery.
