If you believe the real magic happens behind the scenes, and that a well-designed tool can save a thousand dev-hours and a few dozen existential crises, then we want you! We’re looking for a versatile Tools Engineer to join our dev team. You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining the software tools that empower our designers, artists, and engineers to build incredible games across mobile, console, and PC. Reporting to a producer and collaborating across disciplines, there will be a mix of tool maintenance, and tool creation. With new tools, you’ll have the flexibility to choose the right tech for the job, whether it’s C# with WinForms/DevExpress, a Unity-based editor, or a browser-based solutions. Around here, tools aren’t an afterthought, they’re a cornerstone of successful game development. This is a full-time position. It is also a hybrid Office/WFH position with 2-3 days per week in our Collins St, Melbourne office (or more if you prefer). We are not taking international applications at this time. About the role: Reporting to a Producer , your responsibilities will include: Designing, developing, and maintaining internal tools that support game development workflows Collaborating with designers, artists, and engineers to understand tool requirements and improve usability Working on tools using a variety of technologies including C#/WinForms/DevExpress, Unity, and web-based solutions Ensuring tools are stable, up-to-date, and well-documented Troubleshooting and resolving issues in existing tools and pipelines About you: Experience with some combination of our 3 tool technologies: C# / Winforms / Devexpress Unity Web tool development (using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS) Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines A user-focused mindset with a passion for improving workflows Skills in other areas of game dev are a bonus!
