The key duties of the position include Your Role Opportunities exist for highly motivated and experienced individuals to provide executive support to Defence Senior Leaders at the Band 2 and 2 Star rank within Defence. The Senior Leadership Group includes both Senior Executive Service (SES) and Australian Defence Force (ADF) officers. With limited supervision, you will manage the office of a SLG member. Duties include calendar management, preparation of correspondence, organising meetings, arranging travel, coordinating briefing packs, managing office systems and records including financial. The Executive Assistant (EA) will also provide administrative and operational support to the respective Division and Branches. You will guide and mentor other EAs within your Division. On occasion, you will also be required to support the Senior EA to the SES Band 3 or 3 Star military equivalent. As an APS 5 EA, in working directly with members of the SLG, it is crucial individuals are suitably experienced and skilled, professional, have strong communication skills, and work well under pressure. Candidates will be well organised, demonstrate a high-level of initiative, can manage competing priorities, work independently, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will proactively anticipate the needs of your senior leader, exercise flexibility and resilience. You will have excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail and excel at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Candidates will be self-aware, with a positive attitude, demonstrating consideration and respect for a diversity of ideas and perspectives of others. Candidates will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and experience with using records management systems, and financial management systems.
