About the role: As the Senior Officer, Sales and Events, you will support the success of Deakin’s Waurn Ponds Estate by converting leads into bookings and planning events that are delivered by operational teams, ensuring a high-quality and consistent customer journey. Working collaboratively with the Waurn Ponds Estate team, you will contribute to revenue growth by identifying opportunities to improve services and offerings, engaging clients, building relationships, and planning events that align with the university's goals and contribute to its positive reputation. As a Senior Officer, Sales & Events, Waurn Ponds Estate you will: Prepare proposals, quotes, and contracts for prospective clients. Plan and oversee end-to-end high-quality conferences and events including clear and timely communication, preparing event documentation (e.g. run sheets), and coordinating logistical and operational requirements. Develop and maintain strong client relationships. Contribute to the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies that attract new business and retain current clients to reach or exceed revenue targets. Monitor trends and contribute to the development and implementation of new tools and processes that support event sales and delivery efficiency. Seek to continuously improve event sales and delivery across all channels, applying insights from stakeholder feedback, campaign performance, and broader University initiatives to improve consistency, engagement, and customer experience. To be successful, you’ll have: A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Knowledge of the hospitality industry, suppliers and systems, such as Ivvy and Mews. Experience working in an environment which dictates high standards of protocol, attention to detail and professionalism.
