Job Description Join our Notting Hill team as a Sample Receipt Officer , where you’ll play a key role in supporting our environmental testing operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for unpacking, sorting, and logging soil, water, and air samples into our information management system with accuracy and efficiency. As part of our collaborative team, you’ll help maintain SGS’s capability to deliver reliable and timely sample log-in services. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure our laboratory teams can provide fast and accurate results to our clients. What you’ll be doing: Sample handling & quality Unpack, sort, and log incoming samples quickly and accurately Accurately identify, label, store, and register all samples in the system Maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination during processing Resolve inconsistencies or issues with incoming samples Ensure subcontracted samples are managed correctly Customer & client support Liaise with clients to provide responsive, customer-focused service Assist clients with logistics and sampling requirements Generate worksheets and cross-check entries to support the Customer Service Supervisor Teamwork & operations Support the Sample Log-in operations team to keep workflows running smoothly Communicate sample receipt details with laboratory teams Help resolve sample issues alongside colleagues Train new team members in correct procedures Quality & safety Apply quality standards in line with SGS’s policy and NATA accreditation Always use and maintain safety equipment correctly Perform other duties as directed to support smooth operations Qualifications Your skills & experience: An appropriate tertiary qualification Commercial laboratory experience preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of technical knowledge Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
