The Opportunity: We’re seeking a compassionate and experienced counsellor to deliver our Healing Inside program; an evidence-informed, trauma-responsive initiative supporting incarcerated women affected by Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV). This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a prison environment, providing therapeutic support, group education, and safety planning. Key Responsibilities: Deliver trauma-informed counselling and group sessions Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans Maintain accurate and confidential client records Collaborate with correctional staff and community stakeholders Promote cultural safety, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement What You’ll Bring: Essential: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related field Experience supporting women affected by DFSV Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice Ability to work respectfully within justice and correctional settings Excellent communication and documentation skills Desirable: Experience delivering group programs in custodial environments Knowledge of post-release referral pathways Experience in program evaluation or data collection Requirements: NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card) National Criminal History Check NT Driver’s License Commitment to Safeguarding Children policies If you are interested in this opportunity, apply now or give Rell Werner a call on 08 8982 1047 to find out more.
