We are currently searching for an enthusiastic Cost Planner who is ready to further develop their career as part of our dynamic New Business team. Located in our Sydney Head Office or applicable Site Office, the Cost Planner plays a significant part in securing new project opportunities for the NSW business. Working across high-profile, large-scale construction projects, you will join an experienced team that understands the importance of a collaborative, focused and results driven working environment. Role At Multiplex, our Cost Planners are deeply embedded in the lifecycle of our projects. You won't just be crunching numbers - you'll be collaborating closely with design teams and project delivery teams from early concept through to 70% project let. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence design outcomes, shape project strategy, and ensure commercial success from the ground up. If you're looking for a role where your expertise goes beyond spreadsheets and into the heart of project development, this is it. On a day-to-day basis you will: Review and preparation of accurate estimates and cost plans.Manage cost and design variations, scope changes, and assisting with pricing as required.Develop strong commercial relationships with subcontractors.Participate in post tender negotiationsStay attentive of market influences and trends and be able to identify key risks or opportunities. The ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or similar. They will also have had prior experience in a Cost Planning or Estimating, tendering, or Quantity Surveying position within a large-scale commercial builder or related role in the construction industry. They will be comfortable and confident collaborating with the wider project team along with contractors on various design cost and precontract details. An understanding of building codes and compliance is a must, along with prior experience using Estimating software such as CostX.
