The Opportunity John Holland’s Major & Strategic Projects division is currently constructing some of Australia’s most complex infrastructure projects, including Westgate Tunnel, Melbourne Metro (CYP), Torrens to Darlington (T2D), M7-M12 Interchange and Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package. Role We are seeking a General Manager Health, Sustainability and Environment (HSE) based in either Melbourne or Sydney. Reporting to the Executive Director for Major & Strategic Projects, this role is accountable for the following: Providing operational direction, support and oversight of all aspects of health, wellbeing, safety, environment and sustainability Leading and managing the implementation of HSE strategies, systems and initiatives across the BU and reporting progress to and on behalf of the Major Projects Senior Leadership Team Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory and company requirements associated with HSE; ensuring management and staff are informed of any relevant changes and their impacts Developing and implementing HSE education, as well as compliance and improvement programs for employees, clients, contractors and visitors Ensuring that the Major Projects division implements and monitors the JHG SQERM Operational Risk Management processes, capability, focus and discipline About You Bachelors degree in Science, Safety, Environment, or other related disciplines 10 years HSE experience in construction, engineering or heavy industry fields (with major infrastructure/ heavy engineering/ road/ rail/ mining/ tunnelling and underground construction/ power and transmission highly desirable) Several years experience managing and leading a HSE function in complex and high risk industries Regulatory and audit knowledge We Offer Competitive remuneration with salary continuance, and salary sacrifice packaging options available.
