Who we are Export Standards Branch (ESB) leads technical market access negotiations and engagement with Australia's key trading partners for a range of exported agricultural and food commodities and certified products. ESB also pursues Australia's interests internationally in multilateral food safety and trade related forums and leads technical trade modernisation initiatives and collaborative projects to grow closer ties in markets. Electronic Certification (eCert) team is responsible for leading negotiation, implementation, and expansion of paperless sanitary and phytosanitary certification across exports and imports via eCert. eCert is an electronic system to generate export certificates for traded food and agricultural commodities through a direct government to government exchange. Certificates provide assurances to importing countries concerning food safety and animal and plant health. The implementation of eCert provides an opportunity for agricultural goods to be cleared faster at point of entries and can provide assistance in identifying instances of food and certification fraud. Australia is seen as a leader in eCert having helped develop the international standard and continues to play a key role in multi-lateral standard setting forums. The key duties of the position include The Job The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to: provide management to a small team with multiple and changing deadlines deliver outcomes and technical projects as required and engaging and informing stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of programs and projects provide detailed advice and technical assistance relating to the department's paperless certification systems undertake complex analysis, identify problems and provide advice and appropriate solutions to stakeholders and management.
