As a valued member of the Carey community, the Leader of Learning – Science provides dynamic leadership and support to the Science team. This position is integral to the learning area leadership team, collaborating closely with other Leaders of Learning to uphold a cohesive, student-centred approach to education. The Leader of Learning – Science, actively promotes Science throughout the community and foster a positive environment for students and staff. This position includes a teaching load and commences at the start of the 2026 academic year, tenured initially for 2 years. The role: Prepare and implement learning area goals aligning with School values and vision Lead and facilitate the development of the Science learning area including curriculum, assessment, and reporting Analyse student data and support the implementation of appropriate interventions from internal and/or external stakeholders Provide guidance to teachers and technicians about professional learning and development. Foster a motivated and passionate team culture environment within the learning area Promote the Science learning area within the wider community What do I need to succeed? Demonstrated excellence in teaching in their specialised method within the Science learning area Holds a broad vision of inclusive curriculum and an in depth understanding of relational practices Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate and influence people at all levels within the working community Proven ability to lead, coach and develop others A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
