We are seeking an experienced educational leader for the position of Head of Faculty – Mathematics. This is a Permanent, Full-Time position commencing in 2026. The Head of Faculty position is a three (3) year tenured position of responsibility. About the Role Reporting to the Director of Learning, the Head of Faculty - Mathematics is responsible for shaping and maintaining a clear vision that guides the ongoing development of the curriculum, supervises its implementation, and ensures the highest quality of teaching and learning for every student in the faculty. The role also includes fostering professional development and providing guidance to staff to ensure continuous growth and excellence in teaching practices. You will be a collaborative leader, sharing your knowledge and practice of contemporary pedagogies and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team and seeing others succeed. About You: demonstrate strategic leadership capabilities and have a well-developed understanding of contemporary educational issues and innovative pedagogical approaches related to the faculty and broader school context demonstrate the capacity to develop and sustain strong interpersonal relationships and establish productive partnerships demonstrate high level administrative and organisational skills demonstrate ability to engage in challenging conversations and resolve issues proactively The successful candidate: relevant teaching qualifications and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) hold a postgraduate qualification in educational leadership or similar (desirable) should have proven record of success as a secondary educator with an extensive knowledge in educational theory and practice and to have considerable experience working in a school environment have a robust knowledge and understanding of adolescent boys, including how choices in curricular design affect motivation and performance be able to demonstrate capacity of work as a senior team member of a team to achieve strategic outcomes in the area of teaching and learning. be able to demonstrate educational leadership and leadership in developing a culture of learning excellence demonstrate extensive knowledge of classroom pedagogies for engaging and nurturing boys within a rigorous curriculum that integrates technology as a tool to enhance learning Our teachers are expected to participate in and support our commitment to our students to ensure they have a well-rounded school experience encompassing curriculum, co-curricular and pastoral care in addition to participating in our sporting program through coaching and managing sport teams.
