Description This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide technical support across a range of creative and innovative disciplines, including wood, metal, textiles, and emerging technologies like laser cutting and 3D printing. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting both teachers and students in our workshops and studios, as well as supporting a team of technicians to achieve their best in their roles. The role: Lead and guide a team of Product Design and Technology technicians in best practice Maintain weekly class schedules, roster and delegate tasks as required by the learning area Provide technical assistance to students regarding materials, techniques and art/design processes across various workshops Implement OH&S policies and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to OH&S regulations Set up and maintain equipment, tools and apparatus used in workshops Source and purchase materials within budget What do I need to succeed? Previous management experience in a school setting is favourable Previous experience in a technician role Knowledge and understanding of the safe operation of workshop machinery including CAD/CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printing technology Strong knowledge and understanding of OH&S regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional time-management and problem-solving abilities A valid Employee Working with Children’s Check is a requirement of employment in this position.
