The Position: Byrnecut is currently seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our corporate office located at Perth Airport. This is a fulltime position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities & Duties: Provide researched, timely, commercial and accurate legal advice. on a wide range of corporate, commercial, privacy and employment matters in the mining industry. Involvement in reporting on new or proposed legislation that may affect activities including any proposed or existing government policies or directives in jurisdictions in which the Company operates. Provide assistance in: manage and maintain company contracts; manage external legal providers on disputes; legal review, drafting amendments on contracts; managing relevant company policies and procedures; compliance and governance reporting; and training on legal, compliance and governance issues. Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Law. Admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Western Australia and hold a current Practising Certificate. 3 years as a qualified legal practitioner. Experience in similar role or demonstrable broad corporate legal experience in a highly respected corporation or top tier law firm. Collaborative, open, credible and engaging demeanour. Displays confidence and can inspire trust. Superior written and oral communications skills. Some working knowledge of some of relevant mining contracts, PPSA, employment law and competition law is desirable. Exposure to mining or construction services sector is preffered but not essential.
