The Position: Byrnecut is currently seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our corporate office located at Perth Airport. This is a fulltime position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities & Duties: Provide researched, timely, commercial and accurate legal advice on a wide range of corporate, commercial, privacy and employment matters in the mining industry. Ensure the Company is informed as to new or proposed legislation that may affect activities including any proposed or existing government policies or directives in jurisdictions in which the Company operates. Create, manage and maintain company contracts. Tenders: legal review, drafting amendments and where needed negotiate contracts including mining services, engineering, D&C and EPC. Coaching and advice to the executive and senior managers on compliance, risk and legal matters to effectively minimise the legal risks and exposures of the company. Training on legal, compliance and governance issues. Report on any legal, governance or compliance risks to the Group GM Commercial. Disputes: providing initial advice on a range of disputes and manage external lawyers on formal disputes including commercial and employment matters in a range of jurisdictions in Australia and internationally. Admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Western Australia and hold a current Practising Certificate. 7 years as a qualified legal practitioner. Experience in similar role or demonstrable broad corporate legal experience in a highly respected corporation or top tier law firm.
