The EL1 Assistant Director Security Services role is required to undertake very complex and sensitive work and operate under broad direction. They play a central role in assisting the Agency's Executive meet their obligation to have in place effective protective security programs that ensure the Agency's capacity to function and meet required security obligations. As a security professional they are integral in developing, implementing, and monitoring the Agency's security policies, procedures and systems and to exercise sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice. The key duties of the position include The Assistant Director Security Services assists senior management to analyse the agency's security environment and recommends appropriate security controls to manage risk and assist in complex problem solving and issues management. They will be responsible to establish strong networks and manage key stakeholder's relationships within key areas of the Agency to enable them to understand their business functions, security and vulnerabilities and be accessible to staff to discuss any security issues or concerns. The Assistant Director Security Services leads the development of a strong security culture that promotes staff valuing, protecting, and using agency information and assets correctly. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of protective security measures to ensure: the Agency's security practices and procedures comply with the law, Australian Government policies, and agency specific policies and procedures, and the security outcomes specified in the Agency security plan are being achieved.
