THE ROLE As part of its service provision mandate, the Department of Families Fairness and Housing is committed to providing safe and secure buildings for its staff and clients. A critical part of this commitment is the development of a Fire Risk Management Strategy. Its goal is to meet, as a minimum, the standard of fire safety applicable to the wider community and to meet additional standards, where appropriate, to address the particular risks from the attributes of a particular client or client group. The Fire Services Team is the central point for assessing and providing technical support for fire safety and regulatory compliance to the Department of Families Fairness and Housing and focuses on providing safe and secure buildings for all department-owned, operated, or funded facilities in Victoria. It also ensures compliance with relevant statutory Acts, regulations, and fire safety guidelines. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements. Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
