The Opportunity The Business Development Manager - Maritime is responsible for identifying opportunities within the defined market segment throughout the Asia-Pacific Region, preparing bids and proposals, and assisting with the development of business strategy for the growth of the business. Responsibilities Contribute to business growth by identifying potential new opportunities through engaging with customers and stakeholders and undertaking market shaping activities. Provide subject matter expertise and advice on opportunities addressed by the Business Development team. Lead bids and proposals by coordinating inputs, providing networking and scheduling data, and producing comprehensive proposals. Develop campaign strategies, customer contact plans, and provide formal briefings to senior management. Assist in developing business strategy by providing relevant market data and current assessments of opportunities. Enhance the business profile by maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers. Contribute to small project achievements by acting as a project manager and offering commercial advice to management. Represent Insitu Pacific at trade shows, conferences, and industry events as required. Experience / Qualifications Essential Advanced technical education and 9 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven business development or capture experience within defence or government markets. Ability to develop networks, build relationships, and create new business opportunities within a defined market segment. Strong understanding of engineering/technical concepts. Deep knowledge of the Australian Defence Force procurement environment, processes, and procedures. Experience leading cross-functional capture teams within a multidisciplinary environment. Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship management skills. Desirable Direct maritime domain experience and knowledge of uncrewed systems in military, para-military, or commercial settings. Experience in Project Management. Experience in training and sustainment operations in defence or commercial environments. Understanding of export compliance and related procedures. Eligibility Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements. Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
