The Opportunity This is a permanent, hands-on role within a specialised government agency. You will work closely with key stakeholders to monitor and administer financial systems whilst driving process improvement and strengthening financial governance. This role reports directly to the Assistant Director and is vital to the department's mission. The Role Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Financial Systems, the key responsibilities include: Provide Level 1 support to jurisdictions; handle day-to-day requests; deliver user training Lead admin tasks incl. month-end rollovers, annual financial statements, and reporting Maintain data accuracy and governance for payments and reporting Contribute to financial systems governance functions Assist with system interfaces, workflows, and system administration Support enhancements, coordinate changes, and assist with system projects Monitor internal controls for Payments System reliability The Ideal Person We’re seeking a proactive and detail-focused finance professional with strong experience in financial systems, governance, and process improvement. You will bring excellent problem-solving skills, clear communication, and confidence in managing competing priorities. You may come from one of the following backgrounds: An APS6 or EL1 Systems Accountant with experience in financial systems governance, administration, and process improvement. A Systems Accountant or finance systems professional from the commercial or consulting sector with hands-on experience supporting government clients and looking to transition into the APS.
